The act of fretting the notes is enough to press the string down onto the correct contact point on the nut. Webg string won't tune correctly? Um so I'm tuning my guitar using an app tuner, and I can never tune the G string properly it would always show it as E⁴ string. I also tried changing my strings and it still won't tune correctly. Weird name, I know….it's a lubricant you put in the groves where your strings touch the nut of your guitar neck (assuming you don't have a locking nut).
